Books and Nostalgia

So I was helping my husband out in the yard yesterday after going to a bunch of garage sales with him. (I did not find any books but we got a great winter picture and some old mugs which my husband collects plus a boardgame.) He needed my help in the yard but with my torn rotator cuff I could not do much. He said I could help by going through a bunch of bins he found in the attic over our bedroom (we have two attics, both very small).

In the fist bin was every letter, notecard, postcard, birthday card, etc written to me by my best friend Kerri. That was fun to go through. It made me smile. Gave me such a warm feeling. She moved away. She is still on the east coast. My husband and I plan to visit (if she lets me lol!). I miss her so very much.

I had four boxes to go through. In the very last box I found a few books. So here we go: The original copy of "James and the Giant Peach Tree" by Roald Dahl in not so great condition on the outside but the inside is fine. One original copy of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" also by Roald Dahl in very good condtion. My uncle who was a marine at the time and stationed in Alaska, always mailed me the coolest items from wherever he was stationed. But since I was little I was an avid reader so he would send me a lot of books. So finding these brought back great memories. I will never forget my first time reading these books.

I also found some I guess tween or maybe teen books. I was not familiar with two of them but one I was very familiar with was a 1985 book from the "Sweet Valley High" series called Crash Landing. Although I do not remember the book, I remember the bunch of books in the Sweet Valley High series. The author is Kate William. I smiled as I warmly remembered reading the Sweet Valley High books. I guess today they would be considered YA. The book is in good condition.

As far as more nostalgia, I have looked through both attics so there are no more books. Well there was a Miss Piggy book about how to be fabulous (best book ever! I ADORE Miss Piggy!). Nothing out in the shed either. We have one more shed with things of mine in bins but if there are books there they would be nursing books. So thank you for letting me share this walk down memory lane with you.

Has anyone ever found an old book that they remember and that brought back wonderful memories? Post a comment I would love to know!

Colin Cowherd and ComicCon

I was watching the Steelers game tonight and I remembered out of nowhere that I won Colin Cowherd's book. I am going to dig it out and read it. I am excited. When I got the book my husband made fun of me. I LOVE football and do not mind listening to sports shows on my local channel. For example I love Mike and Mike in the morning. Most subject always have a book to go with it. I think I have to read some tour books but I am going to dig out that book I won out and will keep you posted. Any sports fans out there? Let me know! And let me know if you know Colin Cowherd.

I have a lot of plans for book tours that I will be doing myself. If you read my old blog you will remember that I had 1-4 tours a day that I did for other companies. Then a great friend of mine pointed out since I know how to do tours so well that I should start my own business. And I did. So keep an eye out for tours and giveaways. I am going to get back into doing tours for other companies as long as there is no conflict of interest. I love to help out. And I love to bring my reading audience new books to check out.

Come back tomorrow. I think I will try my hand again at drabbles. FUN!

Oh by the way - I am going to NYComicCon on 10/11. Because of my MS I can only make it one day. I am hoping things will change next year because I am missing a lot on Friday especially. I came away with two free books and lots of comic books that I loved last year. I used the app on my phone to plan out my day this year plus I am writing everything on an index card in case I am out of range. I already wrote down the booths that are giving away advance copies of books  YIPEE and JACKPOT!! Some of them you have to be the first say 100 people. But most you just get a free book. I hope I have the luck I had last year.

And off the subject of books but on the subject of ComicCon, wish me luck. I have a Superman shirt I wore last year but it is Soooo hot in the Javitz center. I wound up buying a Walkind Dead tank top. I don't like tanks so I ordered some shirts from the same place I got my Superman shirts, no luck. I am washing them everyday so they soften up. But I just found the ReedPop site and they had a v-neck shirt (Dr Who) and an 80's  style off the shoulder (I think Walking Dead). So they look thin and comfy. The Superman shirts are like any mass produced shirt and have a circular neckline. I feel like I am choking in those. I own mostly v-neck shirts or shirts that are cut low. So I ordered the above mentioned shirts and wish me luck that they are lightweight and at least one fits.

I will tell you more about ComicCon as I find out info. Any readers on the East Coast going to the NY ComicCon? What day or days are you going? Let me know!

Time for bed. No reading tonight...to tired.

COVER REVEAL!

I know if you are used to my blog you are used to seeing the cover reveal and all of the information that goes with it here on my blog. I will be doing that in the future for a lot of books but a wonderful author and friend of mine just put his cover reveal for his second book, Bobby Ether and the Temple of Eternity, up on his own website which you can find here rscottBoyer.com. I hope you will go and take a look. It is a very cool cover. I saw it in the beginning stages and it has been done wonderfully. I encourage you to read book one which would be Bobby Ether and the Academy. I read it and loved it and have posted my reviews on goodreads.com (Mollydee55) and on my old blog http://Mismatchedbookends.Blogspot.com and on Amazon.com. I am halfway though the second book, the one that I mentioned above that you will be seeing the cover for. Book one was a great adventure and made me feel like a kid again. It was also very spiritual. And book two just came out with a bang and kept you glued to the pages.

If you have any questions please ask Scott (I am sure he would love to hear from you) or you can ask me I will try to help you out.

I hope you all love the cover as much as I do.

Come and Join Me!

Mismatched Bookend Tours is a company that will showcase your book for you. If you are an author who is interested, please email me at Kldescopiz4@aol.com. I would be happy to talk to you and/or send you information. Mismatched Bookend Tours is also the continuation of a great award winning blog that got deleted. If you are already familiar with my old blog - Mismatched Bookends - then you know what to expect from me. I am excited to start over and I already see an old friend left a message. It was great to see that. I know people that have lost blogs and it is is heartbreaking. I also know authors that have lost chapters of their books if not a whole book they have written (true story). The computer and internet is wonderful accept when that is what you do for a living and it stops working or there is an error that cannot be fixed. That aside, I am going to, as I said yesterday, provide what I have provided before. Lots of information and fun thing to do with and for books, readers, and authors. I am currently not reading a book so if you have a suggestion, please let me know. I am going to write a review here (and other places) but I would like to recommend two books I recently read. The first book is called Her by Felicia Johnson. It is a wonderful book, very gripping and with amazing characters, about a teenager who tries to comit suicide and winds up in a mental hospital. It may sound base, but I have not read a book like this before. A lot of emotion came up whlie reading it which is, to me, what makes it worth reading. This writer knows how to write. (I was going to put the cover but I am having problems sorry) The other book I read was The Madder Hatter by Cassandra Kemper. It is about the son of the Mad Hatter from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I love when and author twists a fairy tale. This was well done and there is a sequel that I am excited about. So if this sounds appealing it is! Give it a try. I am going to probably finsih reading a book I was supposed read a long time ago. It is a sequel to a book I loved a lot and am going to do the book two cover reveal here on my blog as well as the book one book blitz. So keep an eye out for that. So that is what is going on today. I know there is more book news and I will be bringing it to you. I am also going to fill up my calander again with book blitzes from other companies. I know a lot of my fans enjoyed the book tours, book blitzes, and cover reveals. Not to mention the giveaways. Speaking of, if I have any of my old fans back, and you won a contest with me and never recieved your book, either comment here or write me at Kldescopiz4@aol.com. I have to mention I have seen some wonderful movies lately. Older movies (ie 40's and 50's)I know one of them was based on a book and one based on a play. I always like to read the book first but I had been waiting a while to catch these movies and my DVR was filled to capacity. So I did not really have the leisure of waiting to find and read the book. It is very interesting to me that even back then they were making movies out of books. On last exciting thing. I am going to ComicCon for my second year in a row. I will be there on Saturday. I will be going to the one in New York since I live in New Jersey. I love reading comic books and if you know my old blog, you know I have reviewed comic books. I also got books that were pre-releases at ComicCon last year. They were all good. I hope I can get more free books this year. I hope to make more panels this year. I hope to have pics to post. So let me know if you are going! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day! Happy Reading :) p.s. You can find me on Twitter at Mollydee55 and for my books Mismatchedbook. Facebook you can find me on Mismatchedbookendtours. I cannot get on Facebook now and as with most sites you cannot write ANYONE directly to get help with your problem. But because of my shoulder I have not kept up on that site. I have some recent tweets. All of my links will be on my blog soon. I just wanted you to have them.

Welcome Back!

Hello old and new friends alike. I sure hope that you remember me. I had an award winning blog with hundreds of thousands of views and then it got deleted. After many problems I went over to another site (I prefer not to give the name) to blog but it just confused me and frustrated me and did not able me to do my book tours and give my book news and all the things I loved about being a book blogger. So I hope you all come back and I promise this will be an even better blog. I made so many wonderful friends through here and outside of here and I know they all support me.

The first thing I am planning to do is help a wonderful author and friend of mine tour his book and hopefully I will be doing the book sequel's cover. I have seen it and it is great!

So come back and see me and put me on your Bloglovin list :)

It is nice to be home.

Love and Light,
Mollydee
